Dustin Stein is a transactional real estate attorney for over 16 years with a primary focus on leasing with broad exposure to purchase and sale agreements and operating agreements.  Dustin started at the Law Firm of Seth Stein in the summer of 2015. Over his career Dustin has extensive experience reviewing, negotiating and executing leases for both retail landlords and tenants.  Dustin has been instrumental in expanding the footprint of various international tenants as they enter the American market, including a publicly listed athletics apparel brand, and a bespoke tailored suit and outerwear clothier.

Dustin works extensively with landlord and tenants on every aspect of their lease. This includes working with the respective brokers and clients to clarify and solidify term sheets before the lease is even drafted.  Dustin plays an integral role in all aspects of Tenant and Landlord build-outs including the permitting process and timelines, tenant improvement allowances, and work letters.  He has worked with various gyms, restaurants, franchises, retail clothing stores, international shoe brands, international retailers, custom tailors, party rental spaces and concept stores.

Earlier in his career Dustin worked primarily on office leasing and was instrumental in fully leasing major New York landmark office buildings in preparing them for sale. He also worked on the purchase and then subsequent sale of these buildings after they were leased.  In his position at the law firm of Seth Stein, Dustin has extensive exposure to subleases, assignments, modifications, amendments and surrender agreements.

Dustin’s practice has further expanded to include the review and negotiation of industrial leases, ground leases, and development site leases.
